Dig the duffle coats on the US Team. The rope toggles harken back to the original military design when the Allies fought fascists. Manufacturers such as Gloverall switched to leather after the war to make the civilian versions feel more "upscale."

The Problem with Civilization is that the recent iterations want it to be a board game and all of the soul got sucked out with that. I can't be bothered figuring out incremental percentage differences between placing some building in a specific location, it's ridiculous. More theme, less balance.

Oh, man. After he retired, Tigers great Mickey Lolich started a donut shop that was in walking distance from my house. (I know this because when I was three, I ran away from home, and my parents found me around the block headed to that donut shop.) My first solid food was a Mickey Lolich donut hole.

Rest in peace Mickey Lolich.

This is when my brother and I met him at his Lake Orion donut shop in early 1984. He wasn't even at the shop that day but when we showed up they called him and he came in anyway because a couple of kids wanted to meet him. He was a hell of a nice guy.

ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...

New Amazon Alexa is LLM based and is an idiot about dates. Try setting alarms for "Tomorrow and Wednesday" last night and it says "Setting n alarm for Tuesday, January 3rd and Wednesday January 5th." Took a bunch of arguing with it to get it to agree that Wednesday is actually the 4th.
