It's 13 minutes past the MLB deadline to add players to the 40-man roster ahead of the Rule 5 Draft. So far, the #SFGiants have not announced any roster moves, although some teams are still making announcements.

Dear Giants,
Please announce a coaching staff. Please announce something. Anything. I miss you.

The other thing that probably depresses Donovan's value, is he has pretty dramatic platoon splits. So for the Giants you can basically play Koss or Fitzgerald against lefties. It does create an issue though with 3 guys probably needing to be platooned.

I don't think the Cardinals necessarily want guys that are in the majors that have limited years of control, they know their window is more than 3 years away. So if you're making a trade for Donovan or Burleson they want guys probably pitchers than are in A-AA.

I don't know if this would get the job done I think they probably want either Level or Gonzalez over Davidson. I imagine it would be McDonald, Gonzalez and 1 of the San Jose 4.

Let's say the Giants did trade for Brendan Donovan who would honestly be a huge add. They could then conceivably trade Schmitt + Winn to the Angels for Taylor Ward and you basically improved at 2 positions in 1 trade.

Grisham, Torres, Woodruff, and Imanaga all off the market. Super interesting.

The Niners have an elite offense with Brock and Pearsall and their defense though bad is better than most of the teams scratching at the playoffs.

If I were the Giants I'd see if the Angels would bite on a Keaton Winn + A single a Pitcher for Taylor Ward. he'd solve a lot of issues.

Pessimistic Offseason:
Giants sign Max Scherzer and maybe trade for a short term Pitcher like Bubic, try to resign him if he plays well

Optimistic offseason:
Giants sign Cease/Imai trade for Peralta/Ryan and trade for Kwan.

Likely Offseason:
Giants sign Ponce, Scherzer, and Lane Thomas

If MLB teams are going to fight for a Salary cap in 2027 they know it's coming with a hard floor. I think that Floor has to start at 100m. So that got me thinking. How many teams would be below that floor in 2027. I think some teams we aren't thinking of might spend this offseason to get there.

He was great in relief of Moody and I would be happy to have him for a couple weeks while Pineiro gets right.

If you look at Red Sox 3rd baseman prospect Marcelo Mayer (who ostensibly is why they traded Devers) minor league numbers, nothing is too exciting. He never decimated pitching in AAA. But was constantly a top prospect. Just goes to show that it's mostly about consensus opinion based on draft.

If the Giants were ever serious about getting into the Japanese market this is the guy. He has literally said he wants to beat Ohtani and Yamamoto. He has said he wants to be the Greatest pitcher on planet earth. He's got the vibe you want. Go get him.

If this actually gets your Kwan the Giants should just do it.
November 18, 2025 at 5:47 PM
My theory is the Giants are going to trade Matos because he has value and sign someone like Lane Thomas or Randall Grichuck and then have a 5 man outfield of Luciano or Encarnacion or Thomas, Dean, Lee, Ramos, Gilbert And basically use the 5th outfielder or Ramos to DH against lefties.
November 18, 2025 at 5:30 PM
The Fact that Parks Harber did what he did in the Fall League makes me think he's probably ready for AAA but with the offensive environment in Sacramento he should get about 100 Abs in Richmond first because if he can hit fast balls there he's going to liquidate pitching in Sacramento.
November 18, 2025 at 5:23 PM
The more I look at the numbers the Giants have a really really strong low levels of the minors, like Eugene legit has 5 or 6 guys that will contribute to a major league club one day.
November 18, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Peralta makes a lot of sense for the Giants if he is traded. That Giants have the prospects to make it happen.
Passan: If Brandon Woodruff accepts the qualifying offer, it increases the chances of a Freddy Peralta trade.
November 18, 2025 at 5:18 PM
If I were in charge of the Giants player development, I think Dakota Jordan, Carlos Gutierez, and Jacob Bresnahan should go to Eugene. Parks Harber, Maui Ahuna, Charlie Szykowny should got to Richmond. Bericota, Whitman, and Furman to Sac.
November 18, 2025 at 5:10 PM
If you’re the Giants would it be a good trade to trade Luciano for Campusano? (I think the padres probably want a bullpen arm with minor league options)
