No. 35 on our community prospect rankings: slugger Victor Bericoto who, despite signing in 2018, somehow only just turned 24
2026 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List No. 36
Who is the No. 36 prospect in the system?

Baseball is not moving in the direction I expected that a high average/no power hitter and a low average/49-homer hitter got very similar contracts within a day of each other
Suarez only getting 1yr/$15M??

Is Luis Arráez better defensively at second base than Marco Luciano?
February 1, 2026 at 4:46 AM
The one thing I like about the Luis Arráez signing is it means the Giants didn’t trade Jhonny Level or Josuar González for Brendan Donovan or CJ Abrams.

That’s my lone silver lining.

The Giants are signing Luis Arráez for $12M to play second base and I cannot put to words how much I hate this move

Giants announced that they traded Kai-Wei Teng to the Astros for prospect Jancel Villarroel, a High-A catcher with decent power who was Houston's No. 19 prospect in this month's Baseball America ranking. Also international pool money.

As Kai-Wei's No. 1 believer, I'm sad. Decent return, though.

Still no corresponding move announced after signing Harrison Bader (though the Giants haven't yet announced that move, either)
January 29, 2026 at 7:08 PM
Per Héctor Gómez on X, the Giants "intensify talks to land Framber Valdez on a multi-year deal."

Also mentions the Mets and Orioles as teams that are pursuing the LHP.
January 29, 2026 at 3:36 AM
Harrison Bader's arrival certainly makes it that much harder to envision Luis Matos sticking around past Spring Training
January 26, 2026 at 6:58 PM
Per Ken Rosenthal, Giants have signed Harrison Bader to a two-year deal
January 26, 2026 at 6:22 PM
CJ Abrams was -11 Outs Above Average last year, 35th out of 37 qualifying shortstops. -9 Fielding Run Value, 70th out of 71 qualifying shortstops.

Unlike Bo Bichette, he's not good enough offensively to make that profile work for a groundball pitching and defense Giants team.
January 24, 2026 at 2:48 AM
Baggs reporting that the Giants were willing to make Josuar González available in a CJ Abrams trade and that fell apart and boy am I happy that it fell apart
January 24, 2026 at 2:26 AM
remember when the giants signed adrian houser though
January 16, 2026 at 6:49 AM
I realize that the Giants didn't actually think Tatsuya Imai was good, but if they're not going to sign good players can they at least sign bad ones who vocally hate the Dodgers
January 16, 2026 at 3:38 AM
dodgers are dropping $60M/year + taxes for a player they don't at all need. Giants are refusing to spend more than $11M/year for a starting pitcher they desperately need. hard to even be mad when LA invariably runs circles around SF
January 16, 2026 at 3:09 AM
we got a theater tho
January 16, 2026 at 2:59 AM
Giants DFA'd world series hero Justin Dean
January 6, 2026 at 11:04 PM
Giants still have not announced who has been DFA'd after announcing the Mahle deal yesterday
January 6, 2026 at 10:37 PM
this guy used to be a top prospect. might be worth signing to a minor league deal
Pittsburgh Pirates designated OF Marco Luciano for assignment.
December 20, 2025 at 12:24 AM
It’s the right move, but it’s still a 😕😕😕
The Giants DFA’d Wade Meckler.
December 19, 2025 at 11:17 PM
warning: this is the scariest thing you'll read all day
Minasian said the fifth spot in the rotation could be filled internally or externally.

He added that the Giants will continue to look externally for another starter, but doesn't necessarily think the Giants need to add someone from outside the org.
December 19, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Giants have announced that Joey Wiemer was DFA'd, which makes space for the Jason Foley signing. Still need to clear a spot on the 40 for Adrian Houser.

With Wiemer and Lucaino gone, the Giants ... well ... still have 8 outfielders on the 40-man roster

Phillies are losing assistant GM Ani Kilambi to Washington Nationals, who are hiring him as GM, as Jeff Passan reported. Kilambi oversaw club’s R&D department. He’ll be one of the youngest GMs in baseball.
