I will go to my grave thinking that #StarTrekPicard should have been entirely focused on Picard & Q hanging out in France & eating, drinking, & bickering—sort of like #StarTrek: #TheTrip. Boom! 10 seasons, guaranteed, mon capitaine!

“Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you‘ve purchased only official branded ink cartridges and printed out a test page!”
It would be great if the robots and cyborgs in films were more like my printer.

(Although, I am on board with the idea of the BOSR or British Old School Revival as coined separately & independently by @coopgames.bsky.social & @voxparlour.bsky.social — a revival of the games produced by GW & TSR UK, & not necessarily constrained by the original OSR manifestoes.)

I suspect these folks (I include myself) would be better served by @jeffdee.bsky.social‘s coinage of #TTISG (TableTop Immersive Simulation Game) as a genre of TTRPG, rather than OSR?

Curious (& a little frustrating, if I’m honest) to see the paucity of Blue Sky posts on cyberpunk TTRPGs CitiesWithoutNumber/ CWN & SINLess. Cy_Borg & Cyberpunk 2020 / Cyberpunk Red are, however, really well represented.

Halp! There’s a storytelling game about messages exchanged between homeworld (Earth?) & a slower-than-light colony ship, in which the messages become increasingly scrambled. I cannot remember the name or publisher!

Does this #ScienceFiction #TTRPG ring any bells?

RIP Robert Tinney (November 22, 1947 – February 1, 2026), the artist famous for his playful covers for Byte magazine, a hobbist magazine that ushered in the microcomputing age from the mid-70s through the 90s. I'm honored to have included his work in my own art collection.

Professional translators cannot be replaced by AI. Your attempt to translate a menu, sure, but actual translation is an art, translating things not just across languages but cultures and idioms. Only monolingual dickburgers could think it's all the same.

Still pinching myself, every now and again, because the new house has a dedicated games room. Might also be able to convince my Partner-in-Crime that we should build a model railway/ railroad in the basement.

I’d be curious to know if there are fans of D&D fiction who don’t play the game. Is there a “literary” Dungeons & Dragons fandom? #fantasy #writing #fantasyBooks
