Wondering if old school adventure writers could learn thing or two from the (at times) evocative but clipped prose of 8-bit text adventures.

To be honest, I saw that there’s a book in the series titled “Woman of the Horseclans” & I am here for the idea of post-apocalyptic new dark age horse-riding, bow-wielding Amazonians. (You know? Like “Classical” Amazonians?)

Anyone remember where the "beer standard" for currency conversion in FRPGs was first published? (The assumption that a pint of beer would take up a certain percentage of a daily wage so was a good basis for currency conversion.)

Is there an online version anywhere?
"Schlenkerla Rauchbier, a traditional smoked beer, being poured from a cask into a beer glass" from the Wikipedia entry on beer, because all the Blue Sky GIFs for beer are for Root Beer and ale for Ginger Ale and I have no words to describe how irritated this makes me.

Citadel's classic era soft-polystyrene Mighty Fortress model for 25mm miniatures given an amazing and distinctive brown stone paint job by Goat Major. and set on a table with a green mat/ cloth. I was always fascinated by the original advertising & covers for the Mike Stackpole Warrior trilogy of novels. The editions with the original covers are getting wild asking prices online!
The original paperback editions of "Warrior: En Garde," "Warrior: Riposte", and "Warrior: Coupe." The covers all feature a white, blonde, woman. In the first, she is wearing a ball gown and looks out a triangular window, down on to a planet and moon over which orbits a jump ship (with parachute like sail behind it). For "Riposte," she is wearing a wedding dress and is toasting a white man wearing formal clothes and a sash. "For "Coupe," she is wearing a blouse & jodhpurs, and holds off two armed guards in black fatigues (all three are brandishing pistols).
