Let me be clear. WW: *NO* woman will EVER be at the head of the ultimate decision making table in the USA until YOU stop fellating the patriarchy.

You know what a good example of “stay woke” is? Realizing that within a 24 hr period, just before the weekend - bots and “influencers” took to social media to gin up outrage against the minority leader of the US Senate and an Associate Justice of the SCOTUS… who were working to REDUCE harm.
ICYMI: Here's the Substack Live I did with @stevevladeck.bsky.social this afternoon on the SCOTUS SNAP benefits ruling

We wanted to share this to help people understand what’s going on. It was shared by Jay Kuo and written by Steve Vladeck a clear, straightforward breakdown of the SNAP situation.
190. SNAP WTF?
A very quick explainer on what (and why) Justice Jackson issued an "administrative stay" in the SNAP case late on Friday night, and on what's likely to happen next

Exactly. If we VOTE, we win. It IS that simple. Miss me with almost anything else.
We agree on the intrinsic value of a democracy. We agree that everyone should be able to afford to not just be alive, but to thrive. That’s what makes someone a Democrat. And on Tuesday we proved that most Americans want those things too.

Basically, when it comes to politics (and most things), it truly is almost always better to ask why before you decry.
And now republicans rejected the Democrats offer and COMPLETELY ENDED ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER THAT THEY'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHUTDOWN while every idiot on this site that doesn't understand politics freaked out over nothing as usual LMAO.

Election Day is tomorrow as I type this skeet. If you need to go to the polls in person, please do so. If you are a mail-in ballot state, fill out those ballots and drop them in your nearest ballot box (USPS is not ideal at this point).

I'm highlighting this post not only b/c the message is important, but b/c I want ppl to realize that our elected officials have personal stories of struggle too. And, unlike our counterparts in the Republican convention, the Democratic caucus electeds' personal challenges have built their empathy 1/
Nutrition assistance is NOT corrupt. Food stamps kept my family fed when my mom had to look for work after my dad got sick with MS.
The Trump administration wants kids, seniors, and veterans to go hungry. They are REFUSING to use emergency funds to keep SNAP benefits going.

Both parties are NOT the same. Go ahead and block, blockety block me if you think they are. I have NO TIME for any nihilistic noise... and frankly, neither does this country or the world.
BREAKING: Democrats just tried to pass a standalone bill to fund WIC & SNAP to make sure families don't go hungry during the Republican shutdown.
Republicans BLOCKED it. So Trump won't use emergency funds to keep SNAP running, and Republicans won't let any bills pass. Shameful.

I wonder, while she is rehabbing her own reputation and stumping to get the unredacted Epstein files released, is Rep MTG going to bat for a duly elected Congresswoman? I mean, the Speaker is willfully disenfranchising the whole of AZ-07. That's kind of a big deal.

Good to-do.
Many food banks list what specific needs they have, and the needs change. (In case you feel better about dropping off food rather than cash…) I am going back to doing what we did in 2020: adding the food bank’s list to our regular grocery list, & buy a little each time we go to the store.
I’m seeing lots of talk about donating to food banks. I’m all in favor—give what you can—but if you can possibly give cash, it’ll do a lot more. 🧵
