The Thing With Feathers (2025) ★★★★
The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) ★★★½
Bedtime Story (1964) ★★★
The Outfit (1973) ★★★½

Bedtime Story is no Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (even though that's exactly what it is). Brando simply isn't funny.

She was deeply loved by her wife who is presumably going to raise the six-year-old boy you just categorized as an orphan for some reason.

And we didn't ✌🏾lose✌🏾 her. The government murdered her. Words mean things
Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three, including a 6-year-old boy who is now an orphan.

Renee was deeply loved by many. Her mom described her as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

This is who we lost yesterday.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

Who knows what the future of bluesky holds? But the first 12-18 months were probably the best it will ever get because we all kind of silently agreed it was a clean slate rather than a twitter replacement.

Then all the people with untreated "twitter-brain" showed up like they owned the joint.

Extremely niche poll: "Finest Worksong"

1) Document version
2) Eponymous version

I was gonna watch a Robert Duvall movie tonight for his 95th birthday, but there are at least twice as many I haven't seen as those I have (and I've seen dozens of them). The man liked to work!

Too many choices, so I watched something else.

For Tuesday, I'm thinking either The Outfit or Colors?

Did people know that ABC aired a made-for-tv sequel to 'Splash' in 1988? Amy Yasbeck stepped in for Daryl Hannah as the mermaid, but the rest of the cast—excepting Dody Goodman—are unfamiliar.

Dare I try to find it...out of morbid curiosity?
Splash, Too (1988)
A sequel to the popular romantic mermaid drama, in which Allen and Madison return to New York - one to save his business, the other to save a Dolphin in captivity. You can guess which does which.

“why are you still on twitter” -> whiny, makes you sound like a scold

“oh you post on the pedophile app” -> makes them sound like a pedophile

It's wild to think about how thoroughly invested I was in this show as it aired, yet remember next to nothing about it a few short years later.

The ending was such a betrayal of the entire premise that I must have blocked it out entirely.
one of the great joys in rewatching revenge is nolan ross, who is the best character because he is played by a terrible actor but in such a good way

He's already said numerous times he wants Greenland and the Panama Canal. What's gonna stop him from trying it now?

The Shock of the Future (2019) ★★★★
The Mastermind (2025) ★★★½
A Kiss in the Dark (1949) ★★★
Frozen (1996) ★★★

It's entirely possible all of these could be upgraded at least a ½ star if rewatched. Perhaps I was being stingy.

Daycare centers were also the primary target of the Satanic panic, because fundamentally American religious conservatism is opposed to women having jobs outside the home.
Trump guys are about to Comet Pizza every third daycare center because they think they are all fronts for Somali money laundering. They're only doing this near cities with progressive mayors. This is straight up Government by LibsOfTikTok.

Watch this and fathom how physically exhausting it must have been to choreograph and perform. There are edits, but they're so subtle.

Just watched the 2019 film Le Choc du Futur (The Shock of the Future) and very little happens and that's ok because it's the most "extremely my shit" thing I've seen in a while.

Last weekend grocery shopping me is really telling right now me to go fuck myself.

Little Women (1933) ★★★½
The Sound of Music (1965) [rw] ★★★★
The Whisperers (1967) ★★★
Paris, Texas (1984) ★★★½

Crushed by expectations, there are things I wish Paris, Texas was that it wasn't, and things it was that I wish it wasn't.

I have a new tradition of watching a Wim Wenders film I've never seen on Christmas night. I watched Wings of Desire in 2023, then I forgot last year, and tonight I'm watching Paris, Texas. That makes it a biennial tradition, I suppose.

Not sure where this one's going yet, but I'm on board.

I know how long ago the 2000s happened, and how long YouTube has been around, but that still feels incorrect somehow.
