Niki (2024) ★★★★
The Imperialists Are Still Alive! (2010) ★★★½
Almost Famous (2000) [rw] ★★★★
The Phoenician Scheme (2025) ★★★½

After two complete duds (imo), I'm relieved Wes can still make a film I don't hate myself for watching.

Damn my curiosity.

However bad you're assuming "Jailbait" is, multiply that by a thousand.
i have listened to the olivia nuzzi jailbait song and also a LOT of d-list pop from that era (i find Strivers who don’t really make it inherently interesting), and what i have to say is that olivia nuzzi is no heidi montag

Every politician has flaws, y'all. For example, Kat is doing a livestream tonight with Fantano.

I love my cats and they will continue to bring me joy as long as they live, but...I do look forward to a time when I can buy nice furniture and rugs and not have weird smells emanating from unknown locations.

Project X (1968) ★★½
Ginger in the Morning (1974) ★★★
Madhouse (1974) ★★★½
Theatre of Blood (1973) ★★★

The dullest time travel sci-fi, a charming Sissy Spacek transcending a bad situation, and Vincent Price doing the most (x2).

Glen Powell really does seem like what would happen if you typed "cool bro" into an AI.

He's probably a real person with thoughts and feelings, but he gives me NOTHING.

What is the definitive pronunciation of Ghislaine? It sounds like everyone is winging it, but sticking to their own version in conversation with another two or three people who are also sticking to their own versions.

👇 Far too many liberals have far too much faith in the law & think, "Oh, he's done for, now!" Um, no.
So that's gonna be awkward when all the evidence is out in front us just like it has been for a long time that Trump's a pedophile & nothing happens to him & he's still the president.

I'll see this film eventually, but I'd happily live another dozen lifetimes without having to hear some 80s song recut into a dark, epic score piece in a trailer.

Who fuckin started this shit and how soon can I bust their kneecaps
Watch the new trailer for Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet 🏓

The film will be released in theaters on December 25 via A24.

Nothing happened 8 months ago, but maybe something will happen now?

lol who am I kidding
Last summer the momentum for Joe Biden to drop out went from fringe hope to mainstream push in about five days. Maybe we can toss Schumer from leadership in one weekend.

I don't eat fast food with complete abandon like I once did, but I still fuck with Wendy's 2 or 3 times a month and I knew something was wrong when the good offers started disappearing from the app.
Wendy’s plans to close hundreds of its restaurants in an effort to 'boost its profit and make its remaining stores more appealing'
Wendy's To Close Hundreds Of U.S. Stores
The latest round of closures comes on top of the 240 U.S. Wendy's locations that shuttered in 2024.

People smarter than me have already deciphered this was Schumer hammering out the details of which 8 senators would have their names attached to this. I believe people like Warren and Sanders and Van Hollen are truly angry, but until "no" voters organize and oust Schumer a pox on all their houses.
Senate Democrats are meeting behind closed doors to discuss the emerging deal. “Stay tuned,” Schumer tells us with a grin.

I do have health insurance through my employer—not great, tbh...it's more like catastrophe insurance—and had actually been browsing the marketplace for ACA plans that might be a better fit next year and beyond. What looked grim only looks worse now.

I've never been a significant financial supporter beyond a little to the presidential nominee every four years and a race here or there where I feel inspired by the candidate, but buddy...this wallet is CLOSED until further notice.

Congressional Repubs have divides from time to time, but they never last very long because they cycle fresh blood in and veteran blood out as a matter of business.

Congressional Dems hold on to power long past the age normal people retire and get vindictive if you suggest they should step aside.

"When they go low, we go high" was a great applause line one night 9 years ago, but it ruined the Democratic Party for a generation (and counting).

Carefully choreographed votes and angry press releases are all cute, but the indication of whether anyone in the caucus really cares is whether there’s any push for leadership changes or punitive action against the cavers.

There won’t be, but that would be the theoretical sign this is different
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

Remove Schumer from leadership immediately and replace him with an actual fighter who, among other things, will figure out how to remove the eight backstabbers from any committee appointments they may have.
Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
November 10, 2025 at 2:17 AM
Maybe, but when you look at the list of names reportedly orchestrating this fiasco, I'm 99.9% sure they're doing it out of self interest and a complete lack of spine.
And you know, I have seen plenty of people gaming out how this could be a subtle savvy play, and NO ONE WILL BE MORE HAPPY THAN ME IF THEY MAKE ME EAT THESE WORDS:

But they have earned zero trust and I'm pretty sure they're about to fuck us.
