Just spent two days at a client's office (for easier access to reference materials) and it's always nice to be reminded that clients who treat freelancers like human beings do in fact exist.
It was a nice confidence booster that's making the task much easier and more enjoyable.

Today's translation problem: figuring out if the child in this book with 小児麻痺 has polio or cerebral palsy, since apparently this is a shorthand for both.
I'm pretty sure it's polio, but I'm going to have to do some research to confirm! Would be an embarrassing mistake to make.

Seems like a good time to remind people that you can be critical of exploitative practices/companies without (directly or indirectly) poor shaming. I know a lot of people are under a lot of pressure, I am too, but lashing out at others who are just frantically trying to survive is not the answer.

Currently feeling bitter that Veggie Town is almost certainly trademarked in some form and therefore can't be used as the *perfect* translation for the book I'm currently working on.
