In sports, when a coaching staff keeps running the same playbook over and over, and it keeps not working and the team keeps losing, over and over and over and over and over again, that staff will eventually get fired and other teams will stop rehiring them, because their strategies don't work
Not necessarily condoning it. But hard to deny that drawing and quarting some high-level Democratic consultants in the public square would confer benefits to morale
