Equally uninformed about music, art and science but likely to post on any regardless. ECM nerd and Gerhard Richter obsessive. If I'm playing music: yes, it's supposed to sound like that.
Somehow the Sabrina Carpenter album cover ("Man's Best Friend") has escaped me until now. This ghastly Spinal Tap knockoff makes me feel depressed and old.

not true
the exact opposite in fact
David Breskin (the producer) made a point of making sure that the compositional duties were equally split
b/c he knew I had that talent
- since then the songs I wrote for that record have become quasi-standards among forward thinking guitar players
Re Power Tools, I think there was some bad feeling from Gibbs that his contributions were under-recognised and the album was being pushed as a Bill Frisell vehicle, or something along those lines.
I hadn't heard that about Rejoicing - must dig into that a bit more.

A vulnerable child was groomed and trafficked and then subjected to the most shocking experiences imaginable including the deaths of her babies.

Instead of taking responsibility the British establishment stripped her of her citizenship and dumped her like old rubbish.

Republicans wouldn't let Jack Smith testify in public. Instead they did it behind closed doors and released a transcript and video on New Year's Eve, hoping few people would notice.
They think it’s smart politics, but I think it’s one more attempt to cover up treason. History will agree with me.
Capitol riot 'does not happen' without Trump, Jack Smith told Congress
Former special counsel Jack Smith told lawmakers that the Jan. 6. riot at the U.S. Capitol “does not happen” without President Donald Trump.

You’ll never guess

- Winter
- Icy weather
- Friday nights
- Christmas
- New Years Eve

Jeez, Dom’s old mates at Faculty AI (o yes) really saw Wes coming

Another favourite wartime fact is that Peter Butterworth of Carry On fame - was a POW at Stalag Luft iii and was involved in the Wooden Horse escape.

When he later tried to audition for a role in the film he was turned down for not looking heroic enough.

There are going to be people who unironically praise this and say banning Doctors Without Borders and OxFam is necessary because they're Hamas. And worse, folks will nod and agree as though that's a legitimate position and not absolutely batshit.

As I (and thousands of other people) predicted, Labour's non-deal with the USA wasn't worth the paper it isn't printed on.

Starmer set Britain up to be Trump's chew toy.

Absolutely catastrophic to have traded our EU membership for this turbocharged farce.

Preferably while he's still alive to see it.
Trump is increasingly worried about his own mortality, and he's trying to use government to create a physical legacy that will outlive him.

Which is why every bit of it must be torn down and smashed to bits.
