Secession is unthinkable, but this is the kind of thing that triggers it. The reporting says the FBI "has agreed" to help, but on what basis? Apparently a senator's request, which is not a law. So, we're looking at a lawless action by FBI targeting another state entity w/in its plain legal authority

•Section 9 forbids suspending The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus
•Section 10 forbids ex post facto laws

In the ongoing saga of my research topic becoming current events...I have been wondering what will happpen with the property of immigrants being disappeared in America.
My husband and I left for vacation and were away for 3 weeks. When we returned, our neighbors, immigrants, with several children born in the USA, had disappeared. The house had a sold sign in the yard, but all of their belongings were still there. I have no idea what happened or where they went. 💔

There seems to be an emerging view that the country will turn to the far-right in 2029 and that it is something we need to go through in order to reject it. I find that complacency extraordinary. Once the far-right gets in, it will not give power up.
