Tobias Menzies elevates anything he’s in. Wonderful voice and such intensity. An understated horror king (The Terror, Carmilla). He should do more gothic horror, he fits in so well.

I'm currently working on a novel and at the end of an average day, I'm wiped out. The sheer amount of analysis, synthesis, making of connections, layering of prose, deepening of characterization, supplemental research... all the mental work is intense and exhilarating. Throwback to one of my favourite birthday weekends, in 2019, when my partner booked a surprise stay at Oakley Court (as seen in Dracula, The Plague of the Zombies, The Reptile, or The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Black Park, which stood in for Transylvania in many Hammer films.
