FOUR European trophies, not incidentally. Suck it up. Stick that in your ‘yeah buts’. ‘If we’re not in Europe, we’re nothing.’ We’re something.

It’s quite a profound moment, really. Wonderful football moments 17 years apart, meaning that you inevitably think about everything that you’ve seen and done between then and now.

Hopefully someone receives a nice surprise email or phone call from Spurs over the coming hours and gets to go to a final they didn't think they would, enjoy. As for me, devastated probably too strong a word but somewhere between that and gutted. #coys

In our moment of happiness, remembering the Bradford fire and those who died 40 years ago.

Many years ago I trained as a member of our local authority's disaster response team. The trainer showed the fire brigade film not shown to the public. Never forgotten it. Most tragic thing I've ever seen

Ange coming out swinging and all strength to his Aussie elbows. This stuff needs saying - in part because the club are too meek to do it (at least publicly). This is very different to Conte's rants, which were all about him and absolvement of blame. Want to hear more of this.

I have the flu and am admittedly in a dreadful mood, but playing well when you’re 0-2 down doesn’t mean much. It’s easier.

The gamestate changes, the players have nothing to lose, and all the competitive tension is gone.

30 or more years of going Chelsea away, tonight maybe the tipping point for me, Americans asking questions about ‘soccer’ dozens of empty seats in the away end and a huge apathy amongst hard core fans, is it worth the effort?

See what is meant, when fans object to how the club is being run? This isn't a small or trivial thing. If you value your heritage (and the club trades off this), cherish what gave birth to football clubs in the first place, then this isn't just some petty row over branding semantics. It matters.
An email sent to broadcasters, seen by The Athletic, makes clear that Tottenham do not want to be referred to as 'Tottenham', but rather 'Tottenham Hotspur' or 'Spurs'.

But for many fans the name of the area is synonymous with the club...

With football Twitter rapidly reassembling here, one plea to help leave the toxicity behind: your football club is not a person. It doesn't have feelings, it doesn't experience disrespect. Love your club by all means, but recognise that it does not need you to fight for its honour on social media.
