I seem to remember whole congressional hearings about the terrible destructive force that is violence in video games and yet, there is a very strange quiet about an unregulated technology that coaches people to suicide.
There are no words for how evil this is

Even simple words and concepts don't translate directly, and then add in languages that use different word orders...

English: I like this black pen.
Irish: Is maith lion an peann dubh seo.

Direct word for word translation: Is like to me the pen black this one.

And that's just duolingo level Irish
I would like Countess and Skin Thief available in French BUT they must be translated by a human who gets paid.

I work with words, and I do not support taking work away from translators. Translation isn't just Word equivalent computing. I don't want that for my books or translators.

Bon, je n'en peux plus de soupirer. 🙃

Hello friends. In the early days of Bsky, it was trans and other LGBTQ+ folk, along with s*xworkers, n s f w art folk, and Alf aficionados that built the platform—early refugees from X. Now @bsky.app made a change that auto blocks such posts. You must manually opt out.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

It can be very radicalizing to even get people to seriously think about the economic system they live in and question possible alternatives

Hi all.

Hazel has some unexpected emergency vet bills from today (I think she’s going to be okay).

The cost was a lot and I could use some help covering it.

If you’d like to help, I’m linking my #PangoBooks bookshop and #Poshmark shop in the next two skeets.

Thanks, folks. 💜

This is one good reason why car makers' decision to ditch CarPlay and Android Auto is terrible for consumers, beyond privacy concerns. It relies on their continued maintenance of a given specific platform, which historically has not been a good bet gmauthority.com/blog/2025/11/...
These GM Vehicles' Infotainment Can No Longer Download Apps
GM ends app support for NGI infotainment systems in many 2016-2021 vehicles. The GM App Store is now closed, and existing apps cannot be reinstalled.

#Booksamillion needs to be aware that its employees are asking educators to break FERPA.

To renew my educator membership, I was asked to show my school email inbox, which obviously has student information in it.

He would not accept my profile on the university website.

This is ridiculous.

PA... vote
If Dems win the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania in 9 days, it’s extremely likely the GOP can’t get a majority on that court until 2029.

The GOP really wants to have this majority during the 2028 presidential race.

Can’t put the stakes any more clearly than that. boltsmag.org/pennsylvania...
Inside the Clunky Elections to Control Pennsylvania's Supreme Court - Bolts
The GOP is making an expensive push to end Democrats’ majority on a court at the center of election lawsuits, sparking a fledging campaign season with little precedent or template.

Republican policies never ever ever benefit the consumer. Rather, it's whatever will squeeze the max amount of money out of them. Gotta keep those corporate donors satisfied!

I'm so glad that someone is thinking of the poor service providers.
As a reminder, broadband providers have provided some of the most anti-consumer tactics in business, allowed in part by monopolistic tendencies and lack of competition and also in part by continuous Republican enabling.
