4 decades ago the Federalist Society was created to destroy the fabric of the most successful democratic nation in history. It was a reaction to civil rights and the regulatory system that had built the middle class. They wanted unrequited wealth. They won. Now everybody’s miserable, even them. Yay
As this deeply dangerous insanity sinks in over the coming days, weeks, months the old disinformation shuck and jive will not work. Americans learned to hate our 21st century wars and doing them in the dark of night ain’t a positive change for us all.
Rep. @sethmoulton.bsky.social : "Is anyone going to just stop for a second and be honest? This is insane. What the hell are we doing? We've got a lot of problems in America today, and invading, occupying, running Venezuela does not solve any of them."

It’s hard to imagine a dumber longterm strategy than calling something a “Donroe Doctrine”. Long after Trump is gone we will have to deal with the sure to be global blowback.
Colombian President Petro commenting on the US;

“A clan of pedophiles wants to destroy our democracy. To keep Epstein's list from coming out, they send warships to kill fishermen & threaten our neighbor with invasion for their oil."

Assuming that anyone who could credibly be depicted as an American stooge could maintain political control is a hilariously stupid assumption.

Saying fuck you to both Gonzalez & Machado will probably energize Venezuelan nationalism & opposition to to the US.
"Senior Venezuelan government officials, led by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez...have quietly promoted a series of initiatives in recent months aimed at presenting themselves to Washington as a “more acceptable” alternative to Nicolás Maduro’s regime...funneled through intermediaries in Qatar."
Exclusive: Venezuelan leaders offered U.S. a path to stay in power without Maduro
Delcy and Jorge Rodríguez used Doha backchannels to offer Washington a 'Cartel Light' plan for a managed Venezuela transition that keeps chavismo in power.

By the way, this is insane. Not a single president in our 250 year history would be this reckless. There is zero chance that foes and friends (if we have any besides Israel) will know every last detail.

Caracas is a city of about 5 million people. It’s roughly the size and topography of Los Angeles. It’s unfathomable the amount of shit that could go wrong.
BREAKING: The United States appears to have begun bombing Venezuela. Massive airstrikes are underway. War is here.

It’s only a crisis if the power that is supposed to represent us demand accountability. It is up to a majority to hold those responsible for disabling and ignoring the whole point of both the Constitution and the making of our republic.

In real life this majority exists.
Well, 2026, you made it two days before there was a constitutional crisis.

Take a wild guess what geopolitical power started an unprovoked war and targeted the energy infrastructure as its strategy
Venezuelan friends telling me stuff's blowing up in Caracas and power is out in parts of the city. Fuck this war criminal administration. Send them to hell.

An obvious core of Stephen Miller’s plans are to undermine immigration courts. He is selling, along with his media attacks on the 14th amendment, the idea that there are rights for (white) me, not (brown and black) thee.

It's likely Zelensky himself didn't want a full pomp and circumstance arrival ceremony, but to have literally *no* US official present to greet an arriving head of state is an insanely norm-shattering snub.
Compare this to the Anchorage ceremony.

So not a meeting. A spectacle.
Zelenskyy shares that the meeting with Trump will not be behind closed doors, but rather public - in front of cameras and media.

The Highway Trust Fund finances mass and long distance transit. Transit gets about 15% of the money which basically all comes from fed gas taxes, set in 1993 at 18.4 cents a gallon. That's right, the tax has been the same for 33 years.

We could actually afford this. www.pgpf.org/article/budg...

You know who ain't sleazebags? Everyone not trying to block, redact or lie about the contents of the Epstein files. Also not sleazebags: all of the many many former members of the DOJ and the Executive Branch that didn't transfer rapist and child pimp Ghislane Maxwell to a low security prison.
The President of the United States is very seriously mentally ill, and elected Republicans are so afraid of him that they won’t do or say anything about it.
