It is stupifying how much US politics revolves around a guy who's major claim to fame other than being born rich is calling for 5 innocent people to be executed thirty years ago.

I was wondering how many members of the Congressional Equality Caucus voted yea for this. The answer is:

* 3 co-chairs (Davids, Pappas, Sorensen)
* 8 vice chairs (Fletcher, Lieu, Peters, Pingree, Quigley, Scanlon, Soto, Wasserman-Schultz)
* 83 members

160 years ago, the 13th Amendment was ratified, ending slavery. But that amendment came with a sinister loophole: a Slavery Clause that allowed for slavery “as punishment for crime.”

We need to pass @repnikema.bsky.social’s and my Abolition Amendment to #EndTheException once and for all!

Maybe instead of committing atrocities, we could just make the rich pay their fair share and have universal healthcare and affordable housing instead.

Idk, just spitballing here.

United Health wants its ‘swagger back’.

How? By dropping a million seniors from Medicare Advantage

Why? America's largest insurer wants to improve its profit margins, medical costs are skyrocketing because the GOP cut Medicaid and ACA subsidies.

If we could use nullification for people to get high, why can’t we use it to protect human rights and stop fascism?

Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.

According to reports, ICE officers are being told to trust the results of a faulty facial recognition app over evidence of citizenship.

The Trump administration is steamrolling our due process and privacy rights to support its mass deportation agenda.

ICE claims 'Mobile Fortify' was developed "in-house" but the 'Fortify' facial recognition system is private Israeli software IDF contractor Corsight AI's core product used by the Israeli military to surveil Palestinians.

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

The Telegraph just said the quiet part out loud…

If banning Graham Linehan from contacting “alleged victims” would “mean anyone from the transgender community,” that’s not because the rule was meaningless, it’s because his harassment has been that widespread.
