Read a short story today that blew me the fuck away.
Though Josh Pearce's "Witches in Cold Mountain Halls" might be better described as some kind of genre-destroying contemporary epic poem built from the bones of a dark fantasy dungeon crawl.
A real feat of deliberate prose as an art form.

I’m so disillusioned with the marketing side of running a mag. Think it’s obvious I’ve always been uncomfortable with it but I hate it so much I want to stop any notion of having a ‘product’ to sell. I’d like people to support us for the value of the art we put out, it’s the only thing that matters.

It’s been a while since we’ve put an issue of Seize The Press out, simply cos I couldn’t find the right stories. But I just sent the final copy of issue #12 off to be compiled and I’m so excited for people to read it, I’m really proud of this one.

"Pearl" by J. F. Gleeson might be favourite short story I've read so far this year. Masterful and unique manipulation of prose; awful, fucked vibes. Is his wife dead? Who knows. What a story.

I just reread Joe Koch’s story The Power Company Detective that will be in the next issue of Seize The Press and there’s such a raw energy to the prose, it rearranged my brain chemistry.
Genuinely think Joe is one of the best writers out there and you’re going to love this story in the worst way.
