showed old siskel and ebert eps to stream recenrtly and the younger folks couldnt believe it. ie "theyre so mean to each other, it is amazing". professional cattiness backed up by critical lathe. knocked their socks off. hard to replicate. we got smart critics but are they bitchy enough, i dont know

i don't care if this has anything to do with affordability but put me in charge of Woke DOGE and i'll save the government more money than elon did in a single day by getting rid of ICE and ending funding for israel. use the money on healthcare or transit or a second pride month it will be great
People are waving around 50/50 polling on abolish ICE and in the same poll Trump’s is like 30 points under water on affordability. It’s not at all crazy for professional politicians to think there’s a bigger advantage in talking about the latter!

I know people keep saying this but it’s hard to communicate the depth of active resistance here. Like, I’m on random cafes and people are checking in for observation shifts. Signs everywhere. Folks in visibility vests on the corners. It’s wild. Absolutely wild.
