NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

I can't tell you how many interviews I've done where I've been asked: If Trump's policies are so problematic, why are U.S. stocks rising so rapidly.

A bit of international context illustrates the real issue here.

U.S. stocks have dramatically underperformed other advanced economies.

Once again we're about to see Democrats get blamed for Republican policy.

1️⃣ Republicans gut healthcare funding

2️⃣ Democrats use the shutdown to demand more healthcare subsidies

3️⃣ A handful of Democratic senators break ranks

4️⃣ Democrats get blamed because they didn't fight hard enough 🙃

Trump and Republicans raised ACA health care premiums. They were unwilling to compromise despite a historically long shutdown and dismal public approval. Holding a vote after premiums go up, and enforcing the vote with another shutdown threat can force Republicans to own the issue

I absolutely don't want Senate Dems to cave, but some key things:

1. If they do, this gets kicked back over to the House, which has to vote on it again since it would differ from their own version...which I think only runs thru 11/21?

2. That presumably means having to swear in Grjalva.

Why does the thing Americans voted for keep happening? Why won’t somebody just stop the thing that the majority of the people who participated in a representational democracy voted for? How could we possibly have stopped this thing in a country where an absurd number of people just aren’t voting?

I get this sentiment, but how can there ever be a deal on *any* terms while the President asserts the right to disregard congressional spending directives and spend (or not spend) appropriated money on whatever he pleases? Until that is fixed, it doesn’t seem like it even matters what the terms are.
Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

It has nothing to do with air travel.
