Bumped into Vorarlberg SPÖ leader Mario Leiter in Bludenz. An SPÖ member, I said had resigned 41yrs Labour membership. As I explained Mahmood‘s plans for asylum seekers his face recoiled in horror. Even the Austrian far-right FPÖ don’t make such extreme proposals - and they’re truly bat-shit crazy.

Trump envoy Steve Witkoff has been outed as a Russian asset. This is traitorous stuff.
Steve Witkoff helped Russia derail Ukraine’s access to Tomahawk missiles. He tipped off the Kremlin about Zelensky’s U.S. visit, giving Moscow time to arrange a call that convinced Trump to block the deal. Witkoff actively works against Ukraine’s defense, in coordination with Putin’s regime.

Mahmood trumpets dramatic fall in net migration.
Asylum claimants down.
Irregular boat arrivals only a small proportion of total migration.
And yet this still ‘justifies’ a huge degradation of refugee rights, proposals so extreme that even the far-right parties in Europe would blush.

At Labour’s conference, Keir Starmer promised his government would “fight with everything we have” against those pushing racism and the idea of two-tier Britishness.

Now it is the clear and stated policy rationale of his government that the racists were correct and must be appeased.
It’s just nuts. Even if you accept Labour’s policy diagnosis, we “lost control” of our borders, and concern about immigration was rising long before the alarming rise of racism. The big change on racism has been we traded an anti-racist government for one that is at best Trappist on it.
I find insane that shabana mahmood is going out there and saying "white british people cannot be asked to accept too many of us outsiders, it is not in their nature, and their pushback against all of us is to be placated". What???

Trump is pressuring Zelenskyy to sign the so-called peace treaty negotiated by the US and Russia by Nov 27. It basically gives Russia everything it wants and Ukraine nothing, and bases it on Russian non-aggression guarantees which are worthless.
