Elder millennial human, a walking thinking future dinosaur, the last generation on Earth to see the days before the internet.

Thoughtfully moving through life, typing out loud about American culture and politics and yada yada yada.

Where does our culture go after we’ve commodified literally everything that it means to be human?

Because we must be pretty damn close.

I believe Trump is not running much of anything anymore. His posts are obvious—unhinged, grammatically incoherent, and simply dumb. Like you said, though—some of these posts are far too “proper” to be his. So, why are we letting this garbage go on? Congress? What are you doing about it?

Would people think differently about “tear gas” if media referred to is as a “chemical irritant smoke grenade” instead?

Or instead of “flash bangs” referred to them as “less lethal concussion grenades”?

13/ Money matters. But when all of experience becomes monetized...when virtue and character and connection get crowded out....and the only measure of what matters is the cash value of the outcome - a spiritual cost comes with it.

The way they are doing this is the only way to do it if they really plan to deport 10 million people.

And they definitely mean it.
It’s trite, but I’ll say it: it's a feature, not a bug. Miller’s super-villain mandate of 3K kidnappings daily requires the absence of guardrails.

The Trump Organization has fully accomplished the hostile takeover of the Republican Party, and is now using it to try to take over America.

So when authorities say “she tried to run over an officer,” that is not a neutral description. It is a claim of intent that can be used to justify lethal force after the fact.

When the state kills first and invents the threat afterward, it is not policing, it is death squad behavior. /end

The United States Government, Our government, is saying that this woman was a terrorist.

SHAME.

A farce of a farce is right.

Remember Team America World Police?

Now we are expressly saying it’s okay to use our military for this engagement because they are acting as agents of law enforcement and not war.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

The people who want to take over the United States forever understand that marketing is a key to their success.
It’s worth revisiting this NY Post cover from January 8, 2025 (a year ago), now that Trump is invoking the name “The Donroe Doctrine” to describe his plans.

If one thinks spending trillions on bombs, deportation, or work requirement checks is an investment is the future bc they will save future money…

Why the fuck can you NOT accept investing trillions in healthcare, infrastructure, and education, as investment in the future?

Oh yeah racism/classism.
Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

One of Trump’s lasting contributions will be that millions more shitty grifters in and out of government will have learned that you can scam people and make money and get away with it, especially if you have or pay off the right connections.

This nation had better get it through their heads, that there are those who don't want democracy any longer because it doesn't give them the results they want! No one is going to defend democracy! No one, but WE THE PEOPLE!
