I know nothing about the future but I believe that I have a better shot of becoming the Democratic nominee for President than does Newsom. Since the odds for that happening are in the negative... I don't think this person is going to make it.

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Fraud is a serious crime that merits laying siege to an entire city and collectively punishing every immigrant from Somalia.

It's also a crime for which you can be pardoned and relieved of compensating your victims, so long as some of the money you stole finds its way to the president.

Many have observed the similarities between Noem's ICE and the Proud Boys.

But folks, I have the receipts. I reviewed tapes from 2016-2017 of Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes.

Everything Noem is doing in Minneapolis is laid out in his vision from then.

ICE needs to mask to protect their identities, but ICE will publicize the names of protesters

ICE demands to be addressed respectfully, or ICE will call you a "fucking bitch"

ICE demands to be treated civilly, or ICE will fly into a rage and kill more innocents

As a Minneapolis local I am begging you NOT to donate to the Star Tribune. They are a mouthpiece for police, corporations, and conservatives who repeat those voices unquestioningly.
2/ lots of people on here decry paywalls and insist they’d pay something if only there was a lower price point. Ok, donate to their news fund. Their reporting (and @mprnews.org) is undergirding much of what you read anywhere www.startribunecompany.com/donate/

Is Trump now going to demand that Adrien Brody give him his 2025 Oscar so he can claim to be the Best Actor?

Or that Yoshinobu Yamomoto hand over his 2025 trophy so he can claim to be the World Series MVP?
