Sometimes I think the main reason I've always had a cat: I can eat the skin and they can eat the meat. Matthew ate the majority of the chicken in the box. He'd take a break, then come back when he realized I was starting the next wing. I think he would have eaten the whole box of chicken last night.

Walking into the office in 2026, I didn't care what mess I had to clean up after being gone for 2 weeks. Yes, there were messes. I saw one email after another. I shrugged my shoulders and chose to be happy rather than annoyed & anxiety driven. It's amazing how the universe made the messes go away.

I'm surprising Matthew tonight with his favorite. Korean Fried Chicken.
When I first adopted him, he never ate human food.
The only time he ever ate human food was when I brought home Korean Fried Chicken (or donuts). He stole an entire drumstick (or two) & devoured it.

My two week staycation (never leave the apartment & just fucking rest) is over.
My calendar is filling up.
All the while, I'm trying to transition to a new life. There's so much to do, but as the anxiety builds, I stop & say to myself, "One step at a time. I can do this."

Every time I write, especially with a pen, I think I'm safe.
He's asleep in the next room. I start writing down my to do list in my planner... look who shows up. I only got to write down a couple of things. This happens every single time.
He does this while I'm working on the novel, too.

I just made lunch. We're waiting for it to cool off. I made a vegan lunch & Crab Rangoon dip as an afternoon snack. He knows I made something good because I gave him a bowl of crabmeat. He's taking a nap on my lap until I say it's time to eat.

Finishing up the last few pages of book 3. Matt Dinniman told me he'd met Matthew 🐈⬛. For the life of me, I couldn't remember Matt meeting Matthew. But as I read this, the memory came back. I didn't know who Matt was at the time, but he did try to do some kind of mind meld with Matthew at StokerCon.

I've been trying for a week now to show him there's a tent bed with his new tunnel. He's played in the tunnel for days & bypassed the bed... until today!

Wow. I cleaned out the coat closet/pantry. For once, it's frigging organized & I can reach my coats & access everything.
