Thank you @bikenwhisky.bsky.social! So glad you liked the book!
Finished "The Mechanical Horse" by @megdc.bsky.social. An interesting, well researched look at the up and down history of the bicycle in the US. Recommended for those interested in cycling, especially advocates for better access and infrastructure. To know how one got here is to know where one goes

how about we take tens of millions of dollars and fund a bunch of investigative reporters and local news stations across the country without the expectation that they will make a profit
NEWS:

Democratic mega-donors are debating plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on a range of influencer plans to "find the liberal Rogan."

We've got pitch decks, investor meetings, and internal docs.

One Democrat has a spreadsheet of 26 different proposals.

my most conservative-coded trait these days is that i honestly think that the worst possible thing that can happen for young men is for the entire society to coddle them. what they need to hear is that they have one life to live and they have to take responsibility for it.
Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings

If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men
This is legit the dumbest thing I've ever seen him say

The Onion summer writing fellowship is seeking applicants! It's six months, good salary and benefits.

This year's applicants do NOT have to complete the Eating Challenge, as it turns out this does not adhere to Illinois labor law. We apologize to those who have died in the past.

Expert insights about storytelling
When I worked on The Office, Greg Daniels had a list of questions he asked of every story. Some were show-specific (eg “Are we saying something truthful if exaggerated about office life?”), but many are applicable to any script. Here’s a little thread on them…
