Americans should get ready for an unprecedented abuse of power in the next four years. Trump is coming back more emboldened, more powerful and it seems all guardrails have either been removed or rendered powerless. When will the press stop repeating what he says even when they're unlawful and lies? The federal government doesn't run elections. There's no mechanism with which the president will enforce voter ID requirements for elections. Not under the current system.

This is crazy. The global order Trump seems to be building up is one where stronger countries will threaten weaker ones with military attack unless they give them whatever they want.

My comment was not in respect of this issue only, it was about everything this government has done that Republicans themselves disagree with behind closed doors but they can't take a principled stand on publicly.
