Are we going to address how much better the Guards’ pitching staff is when Hedgey is behind the plate, or… not?

The Guards have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever. Please let Hedgey pinch hit off of Luke Maile. 🙏🏻

I have beef with the Guards team shop at the ballpark. There is not one item of apparel with Hedgey’s name and number on it and that’s just an appalling, heinous oversight. I was literally will to spend good money on a jersey or shirsey and they were (inadvertently) like, “no thanks.”

I want to be sure Warming Bernabel’s start to his professional career isn’t getting overlooked.

Per the Rockies game notes;

Tonight’s Speedway Classic is not, as widely reported, the first MLB game ever played in Tennessee. Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga all had Negro League teams.

Rocchio has the worst baseball fundamentals I’ve ever seen from a big leaguer. Holy hell, is he frustrating to watch.

A home run derby swing off is an objectively better way to end a tie game than the ghost runner.

Also FYI, most guys who started the game have already showered and finished their media interviews and may have even left the ballpark, in case there’s questions around why someone like Judge or Ohtani are not in the swing off.

Kwantumania!!!

Now that’s #GuardsBall to tie the #AllStarGame in the top of the 9th inning with 2 outs on an infield chopper.

Why was my heart pounding like it was the ALCS again.

When you omit "A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol," you completely alter what Scully was describing as "marvelous." Scully was NOT just broadly marveling. He was marveling at a very specific, very important thing.

This was Vin Scully's call of Henry Aaron's 715th home run. Tonight Major League Baseball cut off the first sentence, starting it with the "What a marvelous moment" part because they don't want to anger the white supremacists who run our country and of whom Rob Manfred is an ardent supporter.

Of course the tribute to Henry Aaron breaking Ruth's HR record didn’t include the first part of Scully's call.

Notable that MLB alternated calls in that tribute, and edited around Vin Scully saying “A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol.”

Baseball fans like to debate who the GOAT is, and to me the GOAT is John Smoltz, because he managed to make the Hall of Fame despite not knowing a single thing about the game of baseball.
