Netanyahu assumed the hero was Jewish so he said his bravery was the “pinnacle of Jewish heroism.”

I look forward to him talking about Muslim heroism, but he’s too busy committing a genocide against a largely Muslim population

Hey Rand, how about if all 340 million Americans banded together into a larger group? Then we’d have even more negotiating power!

I am deadly serious when I say that any liberal Project 2028 people should be taking names of the civil servants who go way past their authority to do stuff like this.

That is very much not me saying that normal employees following bad orders should be fired. But there’s a line. This crosses it.
That should be a career ending act of corruption

My point is that the problem with good practical governance is the same problem with vaccines. When it works too well, people stop believing they need it.

DOGE dissolving a massive amount of the federal workforce is going to open up chasms in service and competence ppl would have never anticipated.

It’s was called Redemption, because after being forced to endure the “humiliation” of legal equality with Black Americans and share governance with them, the white South is redeemed, and part of that Redemption was the installation of Confederate Monuments/erasure relics of Reconstruction/Black rule.

Don't know the final results here but looking like maybe a 15 pt swing toward the Dems from 2024. You absolutely can't extrapolate a special election to a midterm. But that kind of flip in a special is a Defcon 1, we're all going to die type warning for the House GOP.

Over the last couple of days -- I will say this now that polls are closed -- I have talked with senior (and smart) Republican and Democratic operatives and strategists: The consensus has been that Van Epps wins with 6-8%. That will disappoint Democrats but it's still a crack in the GOP foundation.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

I get that some are deeply committed to maintaining the doomer bit at all costs, but you sound like Matt Yglesias if you’re now claiming it doesn’t count as good news if Democrats don’t win outright in Tennessee (which no reasonable person expected) but do lose by a way smaller than usual margin

A Democratic win in TN-7 is a long shot, but not impossible.

This is a district that was created when they gerrymandered the state to take away the Democratic seat in Nashville, and it was one Trump won by 22 points a year ago.

If the GOP squeaks by with say 5-7 points, that's a red alarm.

Very, very preliminary results from @decisiondeskhq.bsky.social show Republican Matt Van Epps over Democrat Aftyn Behn 57.2% to 41.3% -- but that includes no votes from Davidson and Williamson County. Behn is slightly outpolling Van Epps in Montgomery County. This is likely all early vote.
