This is an indicator of economic decline. A case of it being harder for people to afford leaving + being less attractive for people to move to for work/contribute to the economy/build a life.
NEW: Net migration to the UK has nearly halved- fallen from 860,000 in the year ending December 2023 to 431,000 in the year ending December 2024.

Still historically high and started under the previous govt. But expect to hear “we’ve halved net migration” from the words of every minister every day.
