Never Be Cruel. Never Be Cowardly. Hate Is Always Foolish. Love Is Always Wise. Always Try To Be Nice, But Never Fail To Be Kind.
He is given a free pass by all the media. If he was given even a small percentage of the scrutiny left wing parties receive, their whole scam would be exposed in no time
BBC news reporting Farage saying he’ll “cut crime by half”.

If they ever reported the Greens, and the Greens said they’d do something super-Green, like cut fossil fuel by 95%, there would be questions “how?” But Farage gets to just promise an impossible thing, and that’s the story? What a shitshow.

Come on Laura - stop letting Farage get away with grotesque lies on #climate - the green economy is growing 3 times faster than rest of the economy. The green transition is in our *economic interests* & it’s Farage who’ll de-industrialise the UK, not green policy #bbclaurak

It's time to start hitting rich people where it hurts if they commit crime. Percentage fines.
Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells was stripped of her CBE after the subpostmasters scandal. But somehow she was allowed to keep the millions of pounds she pocketed in bonuses.

BREAKING: I must bring you the devastating news that Margaret Thatcher is dead 😭😭😭

It's a crazy notion. Yes, there is something to be said for occasional direct human interaction, but mostly not having a long commute and being able to control one's work environment is more important

Destroying evidence is a generous take on it, massive fraud is more likely
"DOGE is eliminating the government's tape backups because they're too stupid to know why they're important" is the generous interpretation, when what they might actually be doing is stealing all the money and trying to destroy the records of them doing so.

So I have a higher IQ than Musk? Figures.
I would never argue against this.

Even if you did show them papers, there are so many ways they can be ignored.
when people argue with me about due process and how they'd be fine bc they're citizens, I just say "You can't prove you have the right papers if you go straight to prison and never get to show anyone your papers" and then most of them get it

I normally find these Downfall riffs a little tired, but this one is fantastic.

Road damage is related to the fifth power of axle weight. Which means if road damage were taxed on this basis, cyclists would pay a fraction of a penny and lorries a lot, lot more.
Do you think if people realised this is a major contributor to deteriorating roads and increasing potholes, they might be more persuaded to go with lighter and smaller vehicles? Their owners should pay a lot more towards those costs in their annual vehicle tax.

I wouldn't want to be a Labour candidate at the next local elections. Lose much?
Well said Richard!

Exactly so. To be fair, they do do that in some countries. Which tend to have low rates of corruption. How about that?

£500 million would only build about a thousand homes in London. Chickenfeed.
Really welcome news for Londoners. This additional funding means the new government has now increased investment for affordable housing in London by more than half a billion pounds in just eight months.
Social and affordable housing boost announced by Rachel Reeves and Angela Rayner
Chancellor Rachel Reeves billed the investment as the 'biggest boost in social and affordable housebuilding in a generation' as she visited a housing site with Angela Rayner

Wage theft is theft and should be subject to the same sanctions. Shoplifting is punished severely, bad employers should be made an example.
Some of the companies that didn't pay the minimum wage to some of their workers, until chased by regulators.

Staffline Recruitment, Rank Group, Mitchells & Butlers, Easyjet, Greggs, Moss Bros, WH Smith, Lloyds Pharmacy, Marks and Spencer, Argos.

Any forget to pay the right amount to bosses?
Prem Sikka: A boost in the minimum wage is welcome, but more must be done to improve people’s material conditions
'Despite the increase, the minimum wage will still be comparatively low, and millions will live below the minimum acceptable standard of living.'

This is terrible, and not what I expect from a "Labour" government. If they don't listen to reason then there will be huge demonstrations, if they are lucky.

Breaking news 🚨

Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, has just confirmed plans to make cuts to disability benefits. This would affect some of the most vulnerable in our society and could push more people with mental health problems into poverty. 1/6

It isn't justice. The CEOs should be in jail.
Appeal Court *very slightly* reduces sentences on some of the 16 peaceful climate protesters, jailed for total of 41 years. This isn’t justice. People desperate for climate action to save lives treated like organised criminals, while big oil & gas get away with ecocide @defendourjuries.bsky.social
Just Stop Oil: Co-founder's sentence reduced in Court of Appeal
Sixteen climate protesters were jailed last year for their roles in Just Stop Oil demonstrations.
