I am BEGGING the WNBA to please be serious
The WNBPA is still awaiting an official response from the league since sending it a proposal a month ago. The league feels the proposal didn't warrant a response since it wasn't that different from past ones — and instead is waiting for what it’d consider a more "realistic" proposal
Talks between the WNBA and WNBPA are at a standstill nearly three weeks after allowing the past CBA to expire and with just over 100 days until the 2026 season tips.

ESPN assesses keys to breaking this stalemate and the potential path forward:

Looks like we're about to lose a tree or at least a big part of one. Probably about .10-.25" of ice from what I can tell.

This is in the LaGuardo area near the Sumner/Wilson county line.

Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

Well, I just saw this man get murdered by federal agents in Minneapolis because of Instagram's autoplay videos. So that's just great.

And yes, I am saying murder because they shot him 4-5 additional times while he's on the ground and not moving or a threat to anyone.
Federal law enforcement agents shot and killed a person in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, according to local and federal officials. The shooting prompted a clash between the authorities and protesters who gathered at the scene. Follow live updates. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

On one hand, this is mind-blowing, that the head of the FBI approaches a critical incident. At another level, it's completely unsurprising b/c a the reason this guy is the head of the FBI is his approach to "controlling the narrative" on social media during breaking news and crises.
not surprising and yet still jarring to read ex-FBI agents describing how Kash Patel and Bongino reacted to Charlie Kirk's murder while running the agency. truly the content creator administration/podcast govt www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I read this story three times while editing just to process it. When state leaders talk about ending prenatal care for immigrant women, it's undeniable that when they say they are "pro life," they mean "pro white life."

TikTok coverage seems to have become somewhat numb to this, but worth remembering that the President simply refusing to enforce a *crystal-clear* law of Congress for over a year to instead broker a deal on his own terms, & Congress just shrugging, is very much not how this was supposed to work

Is it just me or is it odd to have a schedule release when there's not a CBA agreement in place? It feels like this should all be taken with a giant grain of salt until the new CBA is in place.
The 2025 WNBA season started on May 16.

This year, its starts about 8 days sooner, on May 8 --- an interesting footnote as CBA negotiations continue.
