Hace pocos años, cuando hubo un caso muy grave de acoso en un barco de investigación y se pusieron las pilas con protocolos de acoso, hubo señores que dijeron que lo mejor para todos sería esto: volver a prohibir a las mujeres en los barcos.
Tharp tuvo que trabajar desde un despacho toda su vida porque nunca le dejaron ir al mar a recoger sus propios datos. Las mujeres estaban prohibidas abordo. No era algo tácito: había normas que prohibían a las mujeres ir en barcos de investigación.
