Louisiana darlings: @doitjewett.bsky.social, @conrad4congress.bsky.social, @mattgromlichla4.bsky.social — Kat Abughazaleh deactivated Twitter and she’s right. Time to make the break official. ✂️
This has always been a Bluesky-first campaign. But as of today, we will no longer be using Twitter. At all.

And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.

About trying to find an appropriate container for grief in a world of mass-produced sentiment... my poem, "At Hobby Lobby, Choosing an Urn," is out now in Kansas City Review, Volume 21. [🎙️ Sound on to hear me read.]

Officially picked up my plaque for the 2025 Ephraim Tyler Poet of the Year award this weekend.

This honor was given earlier this year at Speak Poetry Fest by POETIC X, and picking it up this past Saturday (on Apollo’s birthday) felt like the perfect alignment.

I didn’t make the news meeting (except for my lil head on the flyer 😂), but I’ll be in this poetry event tomorrow evening with a bunch of Shreveport talent. Like Tee Winn says, it’s a competition, but we’re not enemies. Looking forward to vibing and hearing what everybody brings to the mic.
Verse & Vision Poetry Battle to be held at The Winn Center
Talented poets will be showing off their talent during the Verse & Vision Poetry Battle on Dec. 19.

Currently regretting the gas station mocha I drank this morning because I felt like getting a "treat." 💩

On the bright side, Spotify Wrapped is out! Of course my top song is @alliex.music-social.com's "Is Anybody Out There." A soundtrack befitting a morning spent questioning my life decisions.

The academic mind prison is almost lifted. Getting my hands in some paint as soon as this semester is over!! 🤪 These two are on the easel first. Ready to ditch the grading for the grinding.

It's amazing how a few weeks away from a poem makes you see the cracks in it. Time is the best editor. Patience is better than any craft book.

🔥 The 2026 FISH List is out! Audi Locus jumped nearly 100 points from last year. That’s not luck; that's doing the work.

For the uninitiated: the FISH List ranks thousands of indie lit-mags, weighing submission practices, longevity, and editorial rigor to point you toward venues worth your words.

My poem “The Last Pick Up” is live at Mulberry Literary. I wrote it after my dad died, trying to make sense of an impossible errand. 💞

Since people find being hopeful and optimistic so cringe these days, let me remind you once again that there isn’t a single liberation movement in the world that wasn’t built on hope and optimism.

I'd like one of these and a Duotrope gift certificate for Christmas, please! ✍️🎄
I spent over a year of my life writing this collaborative craft book with eleven other (fantastic! talented! good-looking!) writers.

Two of my visual pieces, “Daydreamer” and “Untethered,” are featured in Heimat Review’s Issue 10.

Grateful to the editors at @heimatreview.bsky.social , and a nod to @flaremagazine.bsky.social for first publishing “Untethered.” 💫
