It's important to need to keep in mind that AI is literally making us dumber.
Overreliance on these tools to make decisions undermines our future ability to think critically and make decisions for ourselves effectively. We *need* to continue to exercise our minds in order to retain our humanity.

It's worth noting that Curry's season was more efficient relative to league average than even Jokic this year. Shai's TS+ is 7 points worse.
With how rapidly league context has been shifting i feel like labeling any current offensive season an all-timer needs era-adjustment even vs. Steph's peak.

I think it’s the traveling that make people think it’s a travel.

"Save 5 minutes getting a cliff's notes version of a doc that might be wrong and might miss the information you are looking for" and "waste someone else's time by writing an email that's either unnecessary or doesn't convey your intent efficiently" are such terrible selling points too.
it's wild how the positive use cases are like "save 5 minutes reading a long doc" and "write a generic email faster" and the negative use cases are "get encouraged to dive deeper in psychosis, misogyny, or suicidal thoughts" and we're still on the fence about overall value

It's wild that we even need to formalize and publish such obvious conclusions.
A new paper argues that current generative AI tools offer little benefit for genuine learning unless students already have substantial prior knowledge. genAI gives probabilistic summaries, not the kind of support that builds expertise.

I tend to prefer flavors of defensive RAPM such as those from NBARAPM.com or xRAPM.com for overall measures of defensive impact. EPM from @taylorsnarr.bsky.social is also good, but the box score prior can cause some distortion IMO.

I really think this kind of thing is a bad idea, because who wants to start a relationship *with a doctor’s office* by realizing the first thing that happened in that relationship is that they tried to trick you?
I went to make a doctor’s appointment today and got transferred to an AI “person” and I can’t overstate my revulsion when it fooled me for the first ten seconds, so that I was trying to be friendly and pleasant, and I realized it I was trying to be polite to a machine.
