As I came across this paper, I was reminded of our previous discussion on the ward regarding whether plasma exchange is superior to IVIG. In which clinical scenarios your team prefers to use PLEX? I‘m curious.

I’ve always said the ADRENAL trial was a positive trial for steroids in septic shock 😛

(my blog about the origional trial in 2018: https://emcrit.org/pulmcrit/adrenal/) #EMIMCC
Intravenous hydrocortisone was associated with a reduced need for new kidney replacement therapy in patients with septic shock.

An honour to speak at #SWAAC #ELSO #AbuDhabi on when to put an infant on #ECMO.
Neuro injury concerns delay ECMO initiation and then deterioration leads to loss of cerebral autoregulation.
Use ECMO to support the patient and not as a rescue therapy when 👶 post-arrest or in multi-organ-failure.
