Tone-deaf federal gov't. Given the 2% cut and 5-year freeze in tri-council budget, are these talented researchers expected to panhandle? Someone should tell the feds that research actually costs money.
Globe & Mail reports “the budget is expected to include up to $1-billion to attract high-quality talent and researchers from the United States and elsewhere”
So far hospitals and universities have been going it alone….

What the heck are these backbench yahoos thinking, with their proposed Trumpist witch hunt into 🇨🇦Canada’s non-political research grant system?
As Trudeau père famously said, 50
yards from Parliament Hill, these MPs are nobodies.
They should stick to hosting BBQ’s.

And the flat roofs of shopping malls too
I love this. Make those huge wasted parking lot spaces PRODUCE something of value.
South Korea mandates solar PV for every parking lot for 80 cars or more (from end-November), applying it retroactively to existing facilities - about 3,000 lots in total

That's 2 to 3GW of new solar powering millions of homes, zero land needed

No side effects for me. Moderna Covid vaccine. Slightly sure arm for a couple of days.
Anyone had their flu and Covid-19 booster recently? I had them today and I've been told the side effects are worse than normal and I fear for my Sunday.

Lucky you 😀. My dog also slept in the bed, but his "it's time for our walk" message was solidly in his biological rhythm. I miss his early wake up kisses.
Since we let our dog sleep on the bed with us… he never disturbs the magic by asking for food, water, or to relieve himself. Sometimes we have to wake him.

Doug Ford says speed cameras don’t work. Toronto data says speeding fell 45%. That’s like a man blaming his scale for being fat. If science offends him, he should ban gravity next, people keep falling for his nonsense.

A USGS & NPS study finds each Yellowstone grizzly generates about $46,000 a year in local economic value from wildlife viewing alone. Proof that wild nature pays its own way — and that every bear is worth far more alive than dead.
