Bill C-15 is one of the biggest threats yet to Canada’s rule of law
The omnibus budget bill gives unprecedented power to federal ministers to exempt virtually any entity from all federal laws and regulation—except the Criminal Code.

Anger can be justified. Contempt is rarely persuasive.

I don’t even know what they are talking about - my HR went up when I saw the Senators excuse for being vulgar.
Don’t normalize this. It’s insulting to everyone.

End of deep alliance between Canada and U.S. not inevitable, top Biden official says

For most people on the planet, “order” meant living with the constant risk that a powerful country would lash out through coups, proxy wars, sanctions, or economic shocks. What elites call chaos now is really just losing their exclusive right to break things.

What say you?

What discourages me in this interview is how an electoral loss gets reframed as “the right strategy, wrong tone.” Losing should prompt real reflection, not reassurance that victory is just a few tweaks away.

Trump: I hate even talking about ICE. 2 people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity.
Host: But it was 2 Americans who died—
Trump: We have the smallest trucks. We've been very tough on the waters
Host: The waters?
Trump: The waters where we knock out boats. #cdnpoli

Ah yes, groceries cost more because people get help.

It’s not fuel, not climate hits, not global prices, not grocery oligopolies, the real villain is poor people buying food stop giving them help dammit!

Brilliant economics. Truly.
Look, we don’t need more "benefits" paid for with our own tax dollars. This just fuels the inflation making food expensive in the first place. Stop the spending and get the government out of our pockets so Canadians can actually afford to live. Simple as that.

Watching the US backslide from democracy…
a few things I noticed

-power precedes law
-loyalty precedes truth
-force precedes consent
-narrative precedes reality

Change your trajectory

Reassert law over loyalty:
-limit executive force
-protect elections
-prosecute abuse
-restore accountability

Notice how the tariff ‘emergency’ pauses the moment a deal appears, now with India. That’s not trade policy; it’s leverage first, legality later.

This isn’t new: centralize elections, delegitimize outcomes, entrench power.

Versions of it show up in Argentina, Russia, India, Turkey, Hungary and )pre-rolled back) Poland.
Democracies erode this way, procedurally, then permanently.

This is what Nicolás Maduro did in Venezuela. Nationalize voting, then clamp down on journalists and appoint only partisan judges. Becoming a dictator one step at a time. 🗽

The U.S. often forgets it isn’t the world.

If we’re talking peace prizes: Doctors Without Borders, Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, or Truth and Reconciliation Commission, decades of risk, sacrifice, and protection of others. That’s the bar.
