As today is world whale day, I've prepared something wonderful for you all! This is Squalodon, namely the species S. whitmorei, the largest member of the genus! It has a comparatively shorter and wider rostrum than S. calvertensis, and a larger body size too! (6-8m(?) max!)

in late triassic argentina, long before the days of tyrannosaurus rex, the largest land predator in the world walked on four legs - not two. this was fasolasuchus tenax, a distant relative of crocodilians more than eight metres long

Since Dinanomodon guoi is only known from a compele cranium, I using Turfanodon jiufengensis (a close-reletive taxon of Dinanomodon) as a reference to reconstruct its postcranial region.

A group of Dinanomodon guoi is feeding beside a stream. Nearby, two Moschowhaitsia lidaqingi, large carnivorous therocephalians, are looking for an opportunity to hunt. Across the stream, a pair of Turfanodon jiufengensis are resting.

How would be facing the largest of the protocetids? Pappocetus, an animal that could have exceeded 5m in lenght or more, at that size it is likely that it was fully adapted to an aquatic life. Smaller, early basilosaurids probably were not fond of giant protocetids like this.
