Meet the Spade-toothed Whale (Mesoplodon traversii), a beaked whale known from the Holocene of New Zealand 🇳🇿 and Chile 🇨🇱.

This beaked whale is regarded as one of the rarest cetaceans & large mammals in the world, with only 7 physical records of it in over 150 years!
