It's also a (negative) testament to the way we can all end up replicating the harmful, deadly actions and systems our people experienced if we aren’t constantly interrogating ourselves, our intentions, our impact, our systems, our leaders, our power, our values, and integrity.

Read my latest ICYMI. It's important.
“Here’s the bottom line: DHS is buying warehouses across the country to build out concentration camps for caging and deporting immigrants, and WEXMAC TITUS is allowing them to be operational in a matter of weeks.”
For ICE to build concentration camps quickly, they're leaning on this Dept. of War program

Lol there's no such thing as social media without annoying ppl. Most of us have been annoying ourselves whether we knew it or not.
Oh no, not annoying people, on a social media website???

Our relationship with time is something I think about a lot and it is a really interesting lens to view ourselves, our cultural productions (including religion and philosophy) through.

A society that can only understand and prioritize having the most wins cannot adequately prepare its citizens for both how to lose AND how to see the truth of your own triumphs even when others will claim you’ve failed. This woman is a shining exemplar of knowing and being secure in your own power.

Good news: The FDA has reversed its decision and will now review Moderna’s application for the first mRNA-based flu vaccine after initially declining to consider it last week in an attempt to undermine vaccine science and trust.

No movement at all. Losing hope. Feeling like nothing is worth it. I can't connect to my family, medical team, I can't organize my life without this. I only have a basic tablet to access the internet on through a browser. It's very old and slow. The Wi-Fi at my house is extremely slow.
Service has been cut off. I’m exhausted, in pain, and now disconnected. Walked miles in freezing temps for food; can’t fight this battle offline. Need $475 to secure the yearly plan. $0 raised.

"Is there technology the left is excited about?" is the kind of question you only ask if you're wildly naive about technology.

But god forbid we're not fawning over every new implementation of Making Computers Bad At Math.

Toni was so foundational to my concept of what writing could be. I was always a voracious reader. But reading her and Audre in my teens really was a revelation. They were writing to and about complex Black women in deeply profound, beautiful ways. It changed me.

24% growth over the past 10 years and STILL less than 5% of the state. So literally nobody but the Cardinals and Suns and Angela Bassett and Whitney nem lived there before. 😁
Since Hurricane Katrina, the population has slowly grown. Add software, tech, more good paying jobs along with a lower cost of living and it has helped with growth

Also why purple has grown in a state that was the last to recognize MLK Jr Holiday.

I’m definitely reading Serpell’s important book on Morrison. This quote is key to me as a Black writer critically compared to Morrison. Gatekeepers said my work was difficult & inaccessible when they rejected it. I knew it was Black art that would be understood by Black folks & that proved true.
“To notice the difficulty of reading Black literature is to acknowledge the difficulty of rendering Black lives. And to call Black life difficult is not simply to describe the hardship of being Black in an anti-Black world. Complexity, ingenuity, beauty—all are contained within Blackness…”

Idk how common it is/was in general but Monistat mixed in Sulfur 8 was def common practice amongst the hair forum girlies forever ago. And I wouldn't be surprised if that knowledge was spread around since then
So let me get this straight. People are now saying that it’s “common practice” to mix Blue Magic and… *checks notes* Monistat ? For hair growth? 🥴

Absolutely correct, and like 99% of the time you can answer any of it with “this was the status quo for years (sometimes decades) and you didn’t have any issue with it then.” Because this is an entirely manufactured moral panic
So much anti-trans discourse is nothing but “What about (made-up bullshit about trans people?)”and you do not have to indulge this or treat it like a legitimate argument.
