I've heard directly from hundreds of children at Dilley. One young girl who shared her story with me grew up in the United States and her stepfather is a U.S. citizen. She said that the guards are mean to her, she is afraid, and that she is worried she will die in detention.

i don't mean this in a no true scotsman way but very literally: people are not "left" if they don't respect and HONOR the working class people whose labor allows us all to LIVE. the left's very foundation is the regular person, the working class!
That is why I didn't really go into academia despite enjoying a lot of parts of it otherwise. I think at least right now here in America, most academics (even left ones) just don't care about the working class propping up their life
