on this day in 2012, 20 children and 6 adults are killed in mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. And with the awful shooting at Brown University yesterday, we still haven't done anything on meaningful national gun laws. Enough is enough.

BREAKING: Another avoidable American mass shooting.

Early reports indicate 20 people or more may have been shot at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

It’s never too early to politicize this for a safer America. No other country in the world does this happen so often.

To give you a sense of how big a departure this year, the government doesn't do this for wanted criminals.
SCOOP: The Trump administration is providing the names of all travelers passing through U.S. airports to immigration officials in search of people with deportation orders, a substantial expansion of government efforts to draw on data to hunt down immigrants.

The Pentagon failed seven audits in a row.

It’s one of the reasons why I voted against giving them another trillion dollars without any accountability.

Passing an audit should be the bare minimum!

Immigration agents have detained and mistreated American citizens.

Not one or two isolated mistakes.

More than 170 citizens this year.

Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running.

This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.

“Fun” fact: the ACA *reduced* healthcare premiums by up to 21% through 2014. Then the individual mandate was struck down during Trump 1, and *that’s* what started prices for all health insurance to spiral up crazily, as the risk pools got way riskier. Repubs made this mess. All of it.

Great news 🙌

Thank you @vanhollen.senate.gov your persistent leadership in defense of your constituent and our fundamental rights.
For months, the Trump Administration has sought to deny Kilmar Ábrego Garcia his rights to due process and fair treatment by our justice system.

Today’s ruling by Judge Xinis – requiring the government to immediately release him – is a forceful stand for our Constitution and all of our rights.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said the government could not indefinitely detain Abrego, a 30-year-old immigrant from El Salvador who is fighting his deportation.
