Google Photos has decided to show me mirror selfies from two years ago and those prove me my body dysmorphophobia was *bad*

And also that it's gone despite my body having changed a lot (+21kg, -18kg within one year, what a ride pregnancy was)

Every week the rich and powerful make me think of that panel of Superman dropping Luthor like trash and saying, "You could have saved the world anytime you wanted to."
it’s cool watching billionaires literally throw away tens of billions of dollars so they can build an AI that tells them it’s okay to use racial slurs instead of like, solving hunger or something
I realise I make fun of Twitter a lot, but it is just astonishing that these posts were made within a few hours of each other. The CEO spouting "it all happens on X!" As the site's owner posts what actually happens on X - racist hypotheticals posted by its owner's personal AI

Support for the general Nazi project in America prior to WWII was FORMIDABLE. America has memory-holed its popularity in its larger campaign to paint our country as the “morally pure Hitler-defeaters.”
Trump is going full-on Hitler.

The astonishing part is that he will be the nominee of a major American political party.

People forget that there were pro-Hitler demonstrations here in the 1930s.
Just absolutely fucking unhinged

Starting young (I showed him some actual dice too, he touched some, and tried to grab and eat a d20 as well) (of course said d20 was still very much in my hand, I'm anxious enough to have chest pains so there's no way Taliesin was at risk of actually grabbing it)

we fixed acid rain! we fixed the ozone layer! we beat polio! we’ve rescued scores of species from the brink of extinction! the despair many of us feel about climate change isn’t that it’s too big to fix. it’s that we know it is fixable but we’re being thwarted by greedy ghouls at every turn.
The other day I was like “you know something we heard a lot about as kids was acid rain, why don’t we hear about it anymore”

TURNS OUT we fixed it???
We! fixed! acid! rain! And we can fix climate change 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-...

Never felt more lonely than when working in a cramped office where we didn't even have space for our coats and bags.

Which is why I'm happy to have found a fully remote position starting in January ✨
that’s it, i’m eating a billionaire

Nothing but hate for the fifth of November.

Blowing up the parliament was a fine idea but the entire neighbourhood playing with fireworks sucks.

for those not familiar, the Post Office in the UK implemented an accounting system that was badly coded and kept saying there was missing money.

736 people were prosecuted for totally hallucinatory crimes. it is an AI cautionary tale we must take seriously.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British...
has anyone done an investigation into the company that did the coding on the Horizon Post Office system?

like, how was it possibly so bad? who did that and signed off on it and told the Post Office that it was a robust accounting system?

Me: I am a Dr

Cabin crew: Thank God. We have a question about the 18th century textile trade in Northern Africa

Me: Ah. I'm afraid my PhD is in the ceramics of Northern Europe, 1672 - 1701

"No, your baby does not count as a vulnerable person you are caring for; why yes, a baby born this year would be vulnerable, but not according to the UK government."
Seeing all these “go get your Covid vaccine - it’s more than a booster it protects against new variants!” and I’d absolutely love to but unfortunately my government won’t let me or most of the population have it so ??????
