This is what "cancellation" actually looks like, but I bet you won't hear Toby Young/Free Speech Union, Spiked, Triggernometry, Andrew Doyle, Piers Morgan or any of those other chancer pricks covering this story.

Props to Robin Ince for leaving the increasingly institutionally transphobic BBC. <3
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The @manchestermill.bsky.social keeps demonstrating why it is so important to have a truly local paper. They really do feel like they are a part of Manchester, not "reporting" on it from somewhere else! They're doing a cool special right now, where you can pay what you like for two months!

I'm running a 50% discount on my patreon for the next week for new subscribers. A Black Lodge sale, if you will, and I'd appreciate the support if you're able or interested. I'm a professional author and film critic, but patreon is my main source of a stable month to month income. Thank you.
My TWIN PEAKS series is nearing its conclusion. The penultimate essay is live, and it is the first of two features on episode 18. I wrote about Diane, the structure of the 18th episode, the context of Laura Palmer's experiences, and how they are reflected in Diane's.

* You know how Van Halen had a contract rider demanding bowls of M&Ms with the brown ones removed?

They later claimed that was all a test to make sure venues were reading their contracts. Clever!

BUT WAIT, that claim itself is actually false. I fact-checked it.
