Pressure is building on Matt Goodwin’s team following The Mill's Friday exclusive.

We reported that Reform UK broke the law in Gorton and Denton after sending out campaign letters from a local pensioner, Patricia Clegg, without a legal imprint.

Now, her son has spoken out.

Reform UK are seeking to fob off blame for their illegal leaflet on a printer error. That won’t stand up with the police - responsibility for making sure the law is followed lies with the party commissioning and distributing the leaflets.

EXCLUSIVE: Reform UK just broke electoral law in Gorton and Denton.

The party confirmed they sent out campaign materials without proper party imprint, something it insists was a mistake.

Wow - @manchestermill.bsky.social catches Reform UK sending fake letters to residents without saying they’re from Matt Goodwin’s campaign, a glaring breach of electoral law.

People across the constituency thought they were getting a letter from a concerned pensioner, they didn’t know she was working for Reform

In Manchester, productivity is up, demand for office space in the city centre is climbing, and the population continues to grow at a lick. Why does such an economically successful city not have its statement businesses? And should we even care?

In 2021, when it was announced Soho House was coming to Manchester, it was ridiculed.

But it wasn’t by snooty Londoners paling at the thought of going beyond the M25, it was Mancunians that balked. The members' club was elitist. We didn’t need it, it wasn’t us.

The pettiest protest in UK media continues. The BBC and the MEN have responded to our questions about publishing licence-fee funded articles under the guise of "exclusive content".

Also in today's briefing: byelection updates, Pride's return, and where to take your mum for dinner in Manchester.

We’ve been trying to get to grips with Gorton and Denton, one of the UK’s strangest and bitty-est constituencies.

Meet Mary, a lifelong Labour voter in her 60s, Abdul, a Reform-supporting Uber driver, and Rita, who’s in a toss-up between a Greens vote and a lie-in.

Recently, @manchestereveningnews.co.uk started producing “premium content” created “exclusively” for paying subscribers. But we have found multiple paid articles written by reporters funded by the BBC license fee.

The MEN is paywalling articles the public has already paid for. 🧵

Lovely work from @manchestermill.bsky.social calling out Reach's egregious badging of local democracy reporting scheme stories as 'premium content'. Reach and the other big publishers get LDR stuff for free cos they basically can't be arsed to do their core job and cover council meetings
