Made new friends in the neighborhood. Had them over for dinner last night. Laughed and shared stories for hours.

It was life giving.

This should be a resounding NO from everyone in the USA.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

Plans for such centers and jails in nearly two dozen communities have sparked protests over suitability, proximity to homes and schools.

Already at least $1.4B richer since taking office, Trump is now suing the IRS for a jaw-dropping $10B over the leak of his tax returns.

As he exploits the presidency for self-enrichment and retribution, millions are still struggling with the soaring cost of living.

Priorities.

I gave a similar talk a few years ago at lambda days and it was super popular, I’m stoked now that lustre has come forward even more!

I wanna see some gleam line in Vancouver 🙏🙏
🤔 Did you know Gleam can build Web Components AND LiveView-style server components?

Hey #ElixirLang folks - any of y'all in Málaga, Spain? Do you have any suggestions for some meetup/training space for prior to ElixirConf EU in April?

Make coffee, not war ☕️
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

Private contractors.

I don’t want my tax dollars spent in this horror. Give us healthcare, education, art, science - support our flourishing not our destruction.
NEW: ICE will soon spend up to $50 million to anchor a regional transfer hub in the Upper Midwest run by private contractors.

An internal forecast reviewed by WIRED points to a Minnesota town with a long-dormant prison.

ICE is looking to ship people up to 400 miles across 5 states.

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

Goatmire. What an incredible experience!

Much love to @lawik.bsky.social and the team for bringing together one of the most diverse and meaningful conferences I've ever been to.

All the talks were incredible but Flora's musical puppetry was a next level performance.

Bravo!
