So the rich really are stealing from the poor?
Sen. Bernie Sanders highlighted a new analysis showing that the wealthiest 1% has extracted $79 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans since 1975. In 2023 alone, $3.9 trillion was redirected upward—enough to provide every U.S. worker with a $32,000 raise.

Remember: The fundamental issue isn’t the size of the government or how to make government more “efficient.”

It’s who our government is for.

Should it work mainly for big corporations and billionaires, including the richest person in the world — or for the rest of us?

This administration has convinced half the country that the real problem isn’t billionaires who evade taxes and collect government handouts but the working class who pay taxes and get nothing in return.

“We just had word that all our fellows and post doc staff are laid off effective immediately. The famous Epidemic Intelligence Service, aka the Disease Detectives, is no more. That’s 1260 staff.

They are calling this ‘Phase 1’.”

I spend a lot of time thinking about how having money and/or status has solved many executive functioning problems throughout history.

If you're wealthy, you can pay people to do executive functioning for you and that's normal.

But if you're poor, executive functioning problems show bad character.

How is this not the biggest scandal in America? How can an op-ed writer pen another missive about the terror of cancel culture and just not give a shit about this?

I'm really excited about this book, and here's why:
1. It was inspired by my teen daughter, the coolest person I know
2. It merges Hannibal with a farmer's market
3. I was horribly depressed when I lived in Athens, and I would've totally fallen for Ash
4. The actual book is GORGEOUS
5. The blurbs!!

Look, I don't want to pressure any of you, but if all 926,164 people currently on Bluesky would just preorder Starter Villain, I could make a really good argument to my publisher that I never need to go on the former Twitter again, and honestly that would be so great
