Yeah the buy-out of popular mainstream American game studios continues. It may seem bleak but there is a super important thing people are over looking.
When you layoff experienced artists and entrepreneurs they go make something new. We're about to see a lot of new game studios start popping up 1/2

I love my producers. They are the backbone of any team and work so damn hard!
Someone asked for details about what a good Producer does to be good, so I took a stab at it.
Caveat: I am NOT a Producer! This is my perspective as a lead and IC. I encourage Producers to add anything I've left out.
Also, I acknowledge I'm setting a high bar here. Nobody can be everything.

I will never forget the time I was asked to assist in UX testing a design, wrote up an outline of no-go issues, and then was told by the PM that they weren't going to address any of them because it would take too long.
Our director then yelled at us for not testing the UX thoroughly when it failed.

something that I’ve been thinking about since DICE is that a lot of highly skilled devs are subject to management labelling them as ‘difficult’ and sidelining them simply because they point out and want to solve a problem, mismanagement which I think has contributed to a lot of failed projects

I find it interesting that, in addition to Jimmy Kimmel's own statements, Colbert made a point of saying Sunday how Kimmel bought a billboard saying he was voting for Colbert in the Emmys, the Emmy that Colbert then won that 🌮 never did. Just interesting.

I have it on excellent authority that some American based games studios now owned by Xbox have been directed to only develop pre-exisiting IPs, no new game world ideas. Do with that what you will.
