This gives me hope.
Yesterday a reporter asked me for comment about Minneapolis’ opposition to ICE. I got kind of worked up and sent way more than I should have. The piece is great—it’s in my prior post. But I wanted post my comments in full here:

I’m going to be out there with friends in Milwaukee today. Here’s to some good trouble!
Welcome to the largest day of peaceful protest we’ve ever seen in our lifetimes.

Today, we’re gonna speak out on a grander scale than Trump has ever seen. No Kings Day is going to be big, loud, boisterous, and joyful. Find your local event and let’s make history: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE #NoKings

My kind of town, Chicago is. I grew up in Chicagoland and got my first grown up job there— couldn’t be more proud of this brash, beautiful place.

Even though it is broken down, I don’t this I would be able to say this … but I love the idea that a word exists to describe the sound of the wind through trees or rustling leaves 🍁 🍂🍁

Very true, this. I spotted one in my storybook-pretty frilly, pink hollyhocks a couple of days ago. They survived but that hummer could have bulldozed them with just a bit more heft!
a hummingbird with a pickup truck would be an instant mass casualty event

This looks like a book I must have!
We always like to check what the first book sale of the day is in the shop. I think it's good luck, and a sign of a day to come.

Today, it was Word Perfect by Susie Dent, so we're going to have a PERFECT day.

I’ve begun the first volume of In Search… and have tumbled from sentence to long sentence. I’ll be here in this lost time for a while….

Horses for courses KB. On the whole, I’m suspicious looking for the ‘well written’ since it seems an attempt to separate matter from treatment, which, imho, is at once futile & not apropos. The joy of the extended Proustian sentence, the awkward Tolstoyan one, the spare & brutal CM style you cite…

I was lucky enough to see this exhibition last week! Visit if you can— it is exquisite.
‘His career, though thriving, was confined by the marginal status of botanical art. The kind of recognition his friends and contemporaries achieved, the big international shows, eluded him.’

Agreed. Also am a supporter and user. Faeries inhabit my novel…
Bring back #WOT (Wheel of Time) and I promise to join the epic battle of "faerie" spelling. BRING IT BACK.

Impossible to overstate the importance of this.
America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.
