"Try looking into DDR3/4 platforms!"

No. The solution to the chip shortages is not giving consumers the cheapest most ancient blob of silicon that gets them connected to billionaires' SaaS & cloud compute platforms.

I refuse to outsource everything. I will not 'be happy' when I own nothing.

In theater. So they think they’re at war.
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

Kansas just passed a monstrous bill enabling criminal penalties and vigilante lawsuits for trans people using the bathroom according to their gender identity and requires them to surrender their current drivers licenses and birth certificates if it does not match their sex assigned at birth.

I often see non-Americans criticize Americans for their lack of resistance to the regime and/or their ~"propensity to sit around and wait for someone else to fix it for them". There's a reason for the inactivity though- The U.S.'s problems run far deeper than a single fascist regime. 1/n

Whether I vocalize, carve glyphs into clay, bring ink to parchment, or type on a keyboard, every word I write has intention.

Generative models will _never_ cross that threshold. It's not a matter of rejecting new technology.

I grieve for the abandonment of human interaction by so many.

this is something ive been crying about in therapy lately. i love technology and sci fi and futuristic stuff. but the capital maximizer machine has infected so much with its enshittification. im genuinely grieving a passion ripped away from me.
It makes me sad too because growing up, I loved futurism. I loved tech. I pretty much existed solely online due to my own identity and living in South Louisiana. Stories of sentient AI, space travel, singularity resonated with me.

But they've ruined it all and made it the bad place.

Ever look back on attending a function and regret not leaving earlier?

My worst fear is that but applied to my whole life. Laying on my deathbed after a long life thinking to myself "I guess it wasn't worth it after all. I should have checked out long ago."

The ICAO is who you need to lobby if you want to remove gender from all passports altogether, which is why American trans activists have largely focused on the ability to update/change your gender marker
In somewhat good news, today the state department website has changed the answer to this question to defer to ICAO policy. Sources still tell me that there is some appetite for invalidation/reversion of passports issued under the injunction, but this message will be welcome to many trans people.

Relatedly: probably my most individually radical economic position is that anyone selling a house should be required by law to prefer an offer from anyone who will live in the house vs someone who will rent it / “invest” in it, no matter how much worse the offer is.
