Early in his career, William Randolph Hearst famously joked that if his papers kept losing $1 million a year, he'd lose all his money in 60 years. If the Post continues to lose $100 million a year, it will take Jeff Bezos 2000 years to lose his money.

Sometimes it seems like all of these are my cases. 🤦🏽‍♂️
As of September 30, Colorado's federal judges had 37 motions in civil cases sitting for six months or longer. That is a dramatic reduction in the backlog from prior years. Still, persistent delays are concentrated among some judges:

Don’t give in now @harvard.edu!
The Trump administration is no longer trying to get cash from Harvard as it seeks a settlement. At this point, the White House seems happy to get a signature on anything they can call a compact.

Worst case scenario. America’s number 1 hater of Latinos is acting President.
Every few weeks we get a story like this and it always fizzle out. Stephen Miller is in control. Let's not pretend otherwise. Even when Brooke Rollins convinced Trump to *publicly* say he'd back off of some raids, it took Miller just 48 hours to browbeat Trump into changing his mind.
Trump is privately worried about the "optics" of ICE raids and his advisers are looking for ways to soften them, Axios reports. I'm calling bullshit: The terror and violence cannot be hived off from the broader policy agenda. They are 100% intrinsic to it.

Why do candidates reach out as if it’s appealing when they say “I used to be a Republican, but then Trump came along”? You mean you supported the Iraq War, Bush v. Gore, endless tax cuts, supply-side economics, Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney’s “self-deportation”? Maybe take a back seat.

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

I think the assumption has been "when we start killing people, they'll shut up and fall in line." Which has not, to put it mildly, been borne out
One thing I've been trying to keep in mind: What turns this around for the ICE/CPB/DHS Nazis? What do they do that makes people stop being angry to come out and yell at them in in the freezing cold, follow them around filming them, defending their neighbors? The answer is nothing. It will never stop
Protesters are keeping up the noise outside a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents in downtown Minneapolis.

Some protesters tried to get inside the building through the main entrance, where they were turned away by security.

Marco Rubio has spent his career voting against working people, and Senator John Hickenlooper helped him consolidate even more power to continue his reign of terror. Colorado deserves more than leaders who are complicit in their suffering.

Back in my day, politicians at least felt the need to lie about starting wars on behalf of oil companies
Rep. Salazar: "We're gonna be doing a favor to us, to our children, to our economy, to our oil companies to be able to liberate. And to Venezuelans who wants to be free."

Which is worse: taking us into a war for oil based on lies, or taking us into a war for oil while saying “We’re doing this to take the oil.”?
